Volatile oil steam-distilled from dried flower buds of Eugenia caryophyllata Thunb. (Myrtaceae).
Characteristics: Slightly yellow to yellow transparent liquid. Very soluble in ethanol and glacial acetic acid, almost insoluble in water.
Finished product specifications: 25 kg/drum, 200 kg/drum;
Main components: Eugenol, β-caryophyllene, eugenyl acetate.
